About this Product

Williamsburg Handmade Oil Colors are professional artists' oils made by Golden Artist Colors in the USA. Each colour is formulated, ground and milled on its own in small batches, so every pigment keeps its natural texture and handling instead of being forced into one uniform consistency.

Most colours are ground in alkali-refined linseed oil; selected SF colours use safflower oil
High pigment load with no fillers, extenders, opacifiers or dyes
Colours are tested for lightfastness using ASTM and manufacturer methods; pigment information, opacity and applicable ratings are shown on the labels
Four grind categories, from very fine to coarse, depending on the pigment
Fully compatible with other oil paint brands and oil mediums

03 / Usage

Usage: Use straight from the tube, or thin with solvent or a painting oil.
Work fat over lean: a little more oil in each later layer.
Oil colour dries slowly; the time depends on the pigment and the thickness of the layer.

04 / Care

Care: Close the cap firmly after use.
Clean brushes with solvent or oil, then with soap and water.
Let oily rags dry flat in open air before throwing them away: they can heat up on their own.
Use solvents in a ventilated room.
