Biography

The visual artist Amal Jamal Aliell is a Saudi artist with an interest in the different schools and styles of art. Her work ranges across oil colours, acrylic, charcoal, pencil, pastel and digital drawing.

She has taken part in more than 50 art exhibitions, and art lovers have acquired more than 80 of her works, among them the acquisition by the Abdul Raouf Khalil Museum in Jeddah of about 21 of her paintings. She also won the Radwa Art Award for 2023, as one of ten artists awarded the prize.

In 2026 she held a two-artist exhibition at Atelier Jeddah for Fine Arts, where she showed more than 36 works.

Her work leans towards folk and heritage art. She seeks to present Saudi heritage in a contemporary spirit that joins the authenticity of the past with the beauty of the present, in a refined artistic and decorative style that preserves identity and gives it a lasting presence for the generations.

Artist statement

I rely on merging different schools of art, such as cubism and impressionism, into a visual vision of my own. I reshape this variety in my own style to offer new works that carry my own identity.

I lean towards beautiful contemporary art, and towards opening every box that leads away from the familiar in the world's schools of art.

Practice

Style
Beautiful contemporary art. I turn old heritage and the fond memories of the past into contemporary art that keeps the authenticity of what was handed down and gives it a new presence that lasts into our time.
