Artist statement

From the local environment

My work spans more than thirty years, during which I have built a rich and varied practice and held more than ten solo exhibitions in Jeddah, Riyadh and Cairo, alongside many participations in the Saudi and Arab art movement.

My practice has become known for its distinctive presence, and over its course I have won a number of awards, to the point that in 1413 AH I was nicknamed the Award Hunter. Among my most notable achievements is winning the Souq Okaz Award. My master's studies have also enriched my artistic and intellectual experience and tied my practice to research and study.

My work has held a prominent place in the Saudi art scene and was ranked among the 18 most important artistic experiences in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, according to the book Saudi Artists Today.

It is the outcome of a long course of research, experiment and practice, through which I have formed a style of my own and established my presence in the history of Saudi visual art.
